What is the primary function of an exchange?

Long term investors are a fussy bunch when it comes to data assumed correct but then turns out false. It induces a lack of confidence, when it should be the opposite.  I so dare to ask: What is a stock exchange's principal function?

Method results in wrong numbers, a continuation.

Here is the continuation of the issue on how the SET/MAI seems to wrongly report the indicated dividend yield and p/e ratio's shown on its official web sites and then so reported by local business newspapers. 

No matter what the methodology, if the result end-up wrong its a bad method.

Checking local business newspapers or even the SET's official web site is no guarantee that the p/e ratio's or the indicated current dividend yield of a listed security is accurate.  Here is how one member posted such inadequacy at our member forum.  We so ask: is wrong data not worse then...

The Human mind has a amazing capability for finding predictive power in random stock data and trend.  Pareidollia describes a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus being then mistakenly perceived as recognizable.
