While brokers at times, may have a conflict of interest, thaistocks.com does not. Our sole interest here is to help individual investors in an unbiased way, beyond just a stock tip. I think the future of such independent proven professional views is bright. Since our inception in April 1997, our membership growth has been above 35%, per year. This long term growth rate accelerated over the last year and this January we had a record month of new and renewing members. Our average daily hit rate has moved above 450 recently, another record number. Just two years ago, daily visitors where half the rate they are now. (The meter at thaistocks.com only counts once, when you visit, regardless of how many pages you view).
As often stated, my main aim and objective here is to help (mostly the) individual investors in achieving superior returns and to assist through my writings and web lounge comments, a better understanding of the whole stock market investment process. My original motivation to start thaistocks.com was due to the ridiculous low market pricing of most smaller Thai listed firms -which nevertheless had/have superior earnings stability and growth, besides impressive annual cash dividend yields.
The SET market is far from efficient and I think I/we have long shown that even during slow times, long term investors make good progress here.
Members and non-members regularly send in comments, critiques and ideas; from which I/we often know how to chose what is truly valuable and of substance. This due to my 15 year long investment experience here. While it may sound different at times I am not on any ego trip, nor to prove anything to anybody, except: that there is much investment merit on the SET! That is, if you get beyond the most active stocks and navigate with experience through all the "noise" the brokers put out. Brokers can have some very good stock research at times, but you never know when they throw in some positive reviews on stocks, which are less appealing.
We seldom publish free material for all to see anymore. I rarely if ever answer an inquiry if the person is not a current member. I spend 6-7 hours, every day, just reviewing research from all the various sources & brokers in Thai and English language. (No, I do not speak much Thai, instead I got a top notch assistant whom does). I read on weekends and seldom take time off like playing Golf -nor do I mingle much. Just look at the long index of articles and see how regular its all been for years.
We here are very pro individual investors, pro justice -besides a high professional standard. If I notice something off, wrong or plain unfair it gets pointed out here. If we are wrong on something posted here, do let us know as we will publish the correction. I do not report to anybody and have no silent investors whom may have other ideas or objectives. While we are looking for some advertising income we choose our advertising clients carefully. In year 2000 we canceled a lucrative advertising arrangement with Seamico Securities -because I back then felt they where not up to the standard.
If any member has a poor experience on the SET or with brokers or funds repatriation etc... they are encouraged to tell us about it.
