US small caps hugely underperforming. Here is why.
The investor-world is run by ever larger mega institutions/funds -which crave big daily avg. volume in shares traded liquidity. It's their mantra...a necessary -required obsession. This is what has evolved, it is what it is. It's one reason why US smaller stocks there have hugely underperformed for some time. If US smaller caps, like here in Thailand which yield 3-6 times more in cash dividends, this would balance things out and help de eleviate this mkt. divergence. But that is clearly not so, hence market seems stuck with US value smaller cap stock investors there, much left behind. The current dividend yield for IShares Russell 2000 ETF as of July 10, 2024 is 1.31%. vs 6-7% on my Thai few choices.
